About Us
Speakr LLC was founded by Oleh Bilyk, a Ukrainian and Russian interpreter who came to the United States after the outbreak of the war between Ukraine and Russia—an event that displaced millions across Europe and the U.S. With extensive experience in medical, legal, and educational interpretation, Oleh quickly recognized a serious gap in language access in U.S., especially for rare and underrepresented languages. This need became even more urgent after 2022, as conflicts across Eastern Europe forced thousands of immigrants and refugees to seek safety in the United States. Many arrived speaking languages such as Ukrainian, Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Armenian, Georgian, and others—only to find there were few to no qualified interpreters to support them.
Seeing this gap, Speakr made it its mission to specialize in lower-diffusion languages spoken by Eastern European, Central Asian, and other European communities. In working closely within the language services industry, we also identified a critical lack of interpretation services for Indigenous languages—such as Paiute and Shoshone—and expanded our support to ensure these communities are not left behind.
At Speakr, we believe that language access is a human right. We are committed to making sure that immigrants, refugees, and Indigenous individuals are never silenced by language barriers and that they receive the same standard of service, respect, and dignity as fluent English speakers—whether in a courtroom, hospital, classroom, or public institution.
